Laser Landscapes & Excavation was proud to contribute to the upgrade of Lomatia Park in Springwood, delivering a broad range of landscaping works to help create a more functional, welcoming, and visually appealing public space for the local community.
The project brought together excavation, concreting, soft landscaping and natural materials, with each element carefully coordinated as part of the broader park upgrade.

About the Project
Located in Springwood in the Blue Mountains, Lomatia Park is an important outdoor space for the local community.
Our team was engaged to complete a range of commercial landscape construction works across the site, helping shape and finish the outdoor areas as part of the park’s transformation.
The scope of works included:
- Excavation and site preparation
- Concrete works
- New planting and garden beds
- Turf installation
- Corten steel garden edging
- Sandstone bollards
- Sandstone seating
With multiple landscaping elements involved, the project required careful coordination to ensure the hard and soft landscaping worked together as one cohesive outdoor environment.

Combining Hard and Soft Landscaping
A key part of the Lomatia Park upgrade was bringing together practical landscape construction with softer, natural elements.
Excavation and site preparation created the foundations for the works, followed by concreting and the installation of structural landscape features.
New garden beds, planting and turf were then introduced to soften the space and create a more inviting environment. Corten steel edging provided clean definition between landscaped areas, while sandstone elements brought a natural material into the design that complements the surrounding Blue Mountains environment.
Sandstone Bollards and Seating
Sandstone was used throughout the project to create both functional and visual features within the landscape.
Sandstone bollards help define areas of the park, while sandstone seating provides practical places for visitors to stop and enjoy the space.
Using natural sandstone within public landscaping creates a strong connection to the surrounding environment while providing the durability needed for high-use community spaces.

Commercial Landscaping Built for Public Spaces
Commercial landscaping projects in parks and community spaces need to balance appearance with functionality and long-term performance.
Materials need to withstand regular public use, outdoor areas need to remain accessible and practical, and each element needs to work as part of the broader landscape.
The Lomatia Park project showcases our team’s ability to deliver multiple aspects of a commercial landscaping scope, from the initial excavation and site preparation through to concreting, planting and final landscape finishes.
